Function

As a Structural Engineer you are responsible for developing structural solutions that allow vessels and offshore equipment to operate safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities:

  • Designing structural solutions for offshore vessel mobilizations: engineering grillages, sea fastening structures and deck integration.
  • Performing structural calculations and FEM analyses using Femap.
  • Creating calculation reports and technical documentation for Marine Warranty Surveyors (MWS).
  • Designing and verifying steel structures supporting offshore equipment such as cranes, ROV systems, A-frames and cable handling equipment.
  • Working closely with naval architects, project engineers and offshore clients.
  • Ensuring that designs are safe, practical and cost-effective for offshore operations.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Shipbuilding/Naval Architecture or other relevant technical education. 
  • Experience with FEM analysis software (preferably Femap).
  • Experience with steel structures, offshore structures or maritime engineering.
  • Ability to perform structural calculations and technical reporting.
  • Experience with 2D and 3D modelling software is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills in English. Speaking Dutch is a strong asset. 
  • Preferably already living in the Netherlands, Rotterdam area.
